The PNP’s “PATROL Plan 2030” emphasized the projection of good image by wearing the proper uniform—and the uniform properly—while in the performance of their duty.
An officer with a proper appearance dignifies the police profession and gains public trust and admiration, Bartolome stated in his directive.
To ensure the strict compliance, Bartolome said base police personnel manning the entrances of PNP camps have been directed to deny entry to any policeman not in the proper uniform or who are improperly wearing one.
There will be on-the-spot inspections regularly on all PNP offices and units, as well as the strict enforcement of appropriate demerits to any violators of the “Tamang Bihis” provisions.
Violations of the PNP dress code also include unauthorized or improper wearing of insignias and accessories, unauthorized haircut, dirty shoes, dirty uniform, and unshaved moustaches.
The Directorate for Research and Development also released the list of authorized suppliers of police uniforms with DRD Certificate of Conformity to ensure that items of uniforms procured by PNP personnel conform to specifications.
