The measure, known as “Anti-Sin Product Advertising”, bans the placement or posting of advertisements featuring or promoting sin products within a radius of 500 meters from the perimeter of public or private universities, colleges, schools and other educational institutions located in the capital.
The products include alcoholic drink and any beverage containing alcohol; tobacco products and allied products or accessories, such as pipes, tobacco cutters and pouches and cigarette containers, humidors, lighters, lighter fluid/gas, flint, among others; inns, motels and/or establishments which offer lodging accommodations of less than 24 hours; and shops that repair and sell guns and other weapons, including ammunitions and other gun articles or accessories.
Bagatsing said the prohibition of advertisement of sin products is in consonance with the city government’s policy of protecting the welfare and general well-being of students.
