Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao is creating quite a buzz online through his latest commercial as endorser of top global brand Hewlett Packard (HP).
The ad for HP Veer 4G---said to be the smallest smart phone in the US---which stars no less than the pugilist-slash-politician, has so far generated more than 150,000 views on the popular video-sharing site since it was uploaded by user bhopisback on YouTube last May 31.
In the 30-second TVC, Pacquiao reveals his daily workout routine and shares what made him get a "small phone."
As seeming comparison to himself and his success as a boxer, Pacquiao, holding the phone, says, “Well, if there’s one thing I know, little guys can pack a punch.”
As reported by Examiner.com, filming for the advertisement took place in Universal Studios in California last May.
Reports that the WBO Welterweight champion inked a three-year endorsement deal with HP surfaced in early May. Pacquiao, as reported by Campaign Singapore, will purportedly receive $1 million a year. He shares the endorsement throne with basketball superstar LeBron James.
In the same month, the Sarangani congressman also snagged another enormous endorsement: “Pacquiao Produce,” which is said to be an “all-natural” health drink that will be made available in North America, as previously reported the news.
With these endorsements (add to that his local deals and astounding gains from his fights), Pacquiao eventually landed on “The World’s 50 Highest-Paid Athletes” list by Forbes.com released last May 31. The 32-year-old pound-for-pound king tied with Brazilian football player Kaka at the 24th place. A report noted Pacquiao as the only boxer in the prestigious list.
